Cervical cancer is a tricky cancer to treat as it’s closely related to the human papillomavirus (HPV) which is almost impossible to eradicate. There is still a shortage of herbs that are directly virucidal towards HPV, but at least there are some amazing herbs active against cervical cancer cell lines, whether they are HPV positive or negative.

Below you will find a list of herbs that have been found effective against cervical cancer cell lines, namely HeLa, CaSki, SiHa, C33A, SNU-17 and U14. Some of these are based on personal experience and while there may not be studies that are directly focused on cervical cancer, they contain compounds that are effective against other types of cancer.

Very effective and non-toxic herbs that I recommend

Zedoary (root) [Curcuma zedoaria]

  • Incredibly strong and stronger in an alcoholic tincture as compared to water decoction, but it works well in water as well.

Sarsaparilla (root) [Smilax officinalis]

  • One of the best for cervical cancer coupled with zedoary root. That powerful combo can work wonders. Only active in alcohol as saponins are destroyed by hot water; water infusion was not effective either. Do make sure this is Smilax officinalis and not other species, such as Smilax glabra.

Patrinia scabiosaefolia/villosa (stem + leaf)

  • Excellent as both a tincture and water infusion

Oldenlandia (stem + leaf) [Oldenlandia/Hedyotis diffusa]

  • Excellent as both a tincture and water infusion

Ginseng (root) [Panax ginseng]

  • Use it as tincture or infusion

Cork tree (bark) [Phellodendron amurense/chinensis]

  • Berberine is effective against HPV

Chinese gold thread (root) [Coptis chinensis]

  • Berberine is effective against HPV

Indian sarsaparilla (root) [Hemidesmus indicus]

  • Tincture is more effective

Lophatherum gracile (stem + leaf)

  • Seems a bit weak, but gets better with higher dosages
