Herbal Vanguard (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Herbal Vanguard mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to provide our services:

• Device Identifiers: We collect anonymous device IDs for rate-limiting our AI wellness assistant (HerbAI). These are not linked to your personal identity.
• Purchase History: When you subscribe to Pro or Elite plans, purchase information is processed through Google Play Billing (or Apple In-App Purchase) and RevenueCat. We receive subscription status data to unlock features but do not store payment card details.
• AI Chat Messages: Messages sent to HerbAI are transmitted to our secure proxy server and forwarded to the Anthropic API for response generation. These messages are processed ephemerally and are not persistently stored on our servers.

Information We Do Not Collect

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
• Location data
• Photos or camera data
• Contacts or address books
• Browsing or search history
• Health data — diary entries are stored locally on your device only

How We Use Your Information

• App Functionality: Device IDs are used solely for rate limiting AI requests to ensure fair usage across all users.
• Subscription Management: Purchase data is shared with RevenueCat to verify your subscription status and unlock premium features.
• AI Responses: Chat messages are sent to the Anthropic API to generate wellness-related educational responses.

Data Storage & Security

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Your wellness diary, supplement logs, and personal tracking data are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

Third-Party Services

• RevenueCat: Manages subscription billing and entitlements. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic API: Processes AI chat requests. See Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase: Handles payment processing for subscriptions.
• Amazon Associates: Affiliate links to Amazon products. Amazon’s privacy policy applies when you visit their site.

Data Retention

Device identifiers used for rate limiting are reset daily. AI chat messages are processed in real-time and not stored beyond the active session. Subscription status is maintained as long as your subscription is active.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of any data associated with your device by contacting us. Since we collect minimal data and most information is stored locally on your device, you can delete your local data at any time by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app.

Children’s Privacy

Herbal Vanguard is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
