Getting Started
No! Herbal Vanguard works right out of the box with no account required. Your data is stored locally on your device. You can optionally set a profile name and photo, but this is entirely optional and stored only on your device.
Yes! The core features are completely free: the full 118+ herb database, daily diary, water tracking, progress journal, Rife frequencies, and basic AI features. Premium subscriptions unlock unlimited AI usage, advanced protocol generation, data exports, and more.
The optional wellness preferences help the AI assistant tailor educational content to your goals and interests. It covers topics like your experience level, dietary preferences, and areas of focus. You can skip it entirely or update your responses anytime in the Profile tab.
Data & Privacy
All your personal data โ€” diary entries, supplement logs, journal entries, progress photos, and preferences โ€” is stored locally on your device. We do not have a server-side database of your information. The only data that leaves your device is when you actively use AI features, in which case your query text is processed in real-time and not stored. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Go to Profile โ†’ Tools โ†’ Export to download your data as a practitioner report, CSV, or JSON file. To delete all data, go to Profile โ†’ scroll to the bottom โ†’ "Delete All Data." This permanently erases everything stored on your device.
Uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored data permanently. We strongly recommend using the Data Export feature before uninstalling if you want to keep a copy of your diary, journal entries, and supplement history.
Currently, data transfer between devices requires exporting your data from the old device and is limited to a record backup. Cloud sync and cross-device backup is on our roadmap for a future update.
Features
The AI assistant is powered by advanced language models and can answer wellness questions, scan meals with your camera, generate educational protocols, and provide insights based on your diary data. AI features require an internet connection and are rate-limited to 50 queries per day on the free tier. All AI responses are educational โ€” not medical advice.
Rife frequencies are specific sound frequencies that some wellness practitioners use as part of their health routines. Our app generates these frequencies digitally with an optional ocean wave synthesis that blends the tone into a calming soundscape. Rife frequencies are provided as a wellness and relaxation tool โ€” they are not FDA-approved treatments for any medical condition.
Our herb database includes general information, traditional uses, and research notes with PubMed citations where available. However, this information is for educational purposes only and should not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new supplement.
The Interaction Checker uses AI to analyze potential interactions between herbs and supplements in your stack. It provides educational flags for common interactions, but it cannot account for your specific medications, health conditions, or individual circumstances. Always discuss supplement combinations with your healthcare provider, especially if you take prescription medications.
Troubleshooting
AI features require an active internet connection. Check that you're connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data. If you see a rate limit message, you've reached the daily limit (50 queries) or need to wait 15 seconds between queries. The app will show an offline banner when no connection is detected.
Data is stored locally using your device's storage. If you cleared your browser cache (web version) or the app's storage in device settings, this may have erased your data. Unfortunately, locally deleted data cannot be recovered. We recommend using Data Export regularly to keep backups.
Check that Sound Effects are enabled in Profile settings. Also ensure your device is not on silent/vibrate mode and the volume is turned up. On iOS, the physical mute switch on the side of your device will silence app audio. Some frequencies require tapping a Play button to begin โ€” this is required by mobile browsers and operating systems for audio playback.
